Restoration: Some Projects

Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Mignanelli, centre of Rome

>Contract for works for improvements to Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Mignanelli (historical centre)

>Client: Rome Municipality, Historic City Office

The project consists in the requalification of urban areas of "Piazza di Spagna" and "Piazza Mignanelli" and measures of environmental improvement: a prestigious undertaking, because we're talking about one of the most famous and ancient location over the world, but a difficult job due to the historical importance of the site and the very narrow delivery dates.

In fact the worksite had to be terminated for the 8th of December, the celebration of the Immaculate Conception, in the presence of the Pope.

The restoratory work was delicate and dealt with particular attention, especially in the laying of the "sampietrini", a tipical kind of pavement made of bevelled stones of black basalt, placed one next to the other and in the restoration of the Bernini fountain "Barcaccia" and the "Column of the Immaculate Conception".

"Palazzetto Lancellotti" was built by Lancellotti in the seventeenth century at the completion of their primary residence for a part of the extended family and for the stables . It is a building with a three-storey facade of nine framed windows; the structure is open on the ground floor with a simple portal flanked by four doors of the stable, alternating with barred windows.
